Architectural
Roshek Redevelopment Project
This work entitled "Pieces of Dubuque" was selected by Dubuque Initiatives to be displayed in the newly renovated Roshek Building. The Roshek symbol is in the center, as the focal point, surrounded by a combination of architectural elements of other discernible Dubuque fixtures. These architectural elements may not be recognized at first glance, but upon further investigation prove to be pieces of noteworthy buildings....

Dubuque Artist, Heather O'Neil, works from her own photography to create timeless portraits in black and white. To many people, her works appear to be charcoal portraits, but O'Neil finds soft pastel to be her preferred choice. In contrast to works in charcoal which can appear "muddy", her soft pastel portraits have a smooth, clean appearance with contrasting of shades of a truly black medium against the white background.
